Description

Prominent nasolabial folds are one of the early visual signs of ageing.

 

Nasolabial folds can be defined as creases that extend from the edge of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

 

This happens because nasolabial fold are one of the early signs of aging when the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin slows down, this causes volume loss, sagging skin, and wrinkles.

 

Sun protection is extremely important as sun can brutally damage the skin. These variety of factors can cause the nasolabial folds.

 

Treatment with dermal filler in this area have amazing results. The results can be seen immediately however due to swelling and bruising final results will be seen after a week.

This treatment is long lasting but not permanent lasting 12- 18 months.

Please follow aftercare advice to prevent any infection.

Ensuring that hands are always clean when touching the area treated, try to avoid touching area if you can, to avoid infections.

 

Not to apply make-up to the skin for the first 12 hours following treatment, arnica can be applied and ice packs used for 48 hours to help with swelling and bruising.

 

Do not use sun beds or sauna and avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks.

 

Vigorous exercise, should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment.

Risks and Side effects?

  • Side effects include, Redness, Swelling, Bruising, Tenderness, and Itching theses effects can last a days to weeks.
  • All treatments carry some risk. All risks and complications will be discussed with you at consultation appointment prior to any treatment being commenced.
  • This treatment is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not suitable for this treatment.
  • Those who have allergies or intolerances to Lidocaine, or hyaluronic acid.
  • Those who suffer with cold sore virus, you must advise at consultation as you may need to take medication prior to dermal filler treatment.
